Psoriatic Arthritus

My husband has been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritus.    Started with swollen toes - they now look like mini-sausages, the nails are disenigrating(sp?) and pussing.        He now has joint pain and is taking sulphasalazine and naproxen.      Our question is Is it normal for the nails to be pussing?        The RA doctor says it is not her area - we should return to Dermatologist.     Can't see that this makes any sense to us.

I am sorry to read that your husband is suffering this painful condition.  What you are describing does sound like the effects of psoriasis attacking his nails and nailbeds, but it could also be other conditions.  I hope your hubby will get to a dermatologist to be get a clear diagnosis and treatment.  Please let us know what you find out and good luck.
