Psoriatic arthritis

Hello.

I've been seeking to discover a health issue I've been having.

I'm a 38 year old male, highly active when health issues are not flaring.

I do have slight psoriasis on my elbows and knees (ankles a bit), but my blood tests said I don't have any arthritis.

My low back has been out of commission for over one month now. I can't do anything, let alone tie my shoes. I think it's getting better. But mysteriously, I'm developing what feels like a tendonitis in my wrist and ankle.

I don't have any surface symptoms (other than the psoriasis) like swelling or redness etc...

Is it possible to have this condition target my lower back in such a way?

Thanks for any input...

Hey DrKaul,

Interesting about the blood work, since I was in rheumatology and they assessed me based on my blood tests and unfortunately on how much I was "crying"... which I tend not to. I mention this because I've found that if I "fake" or exaggerate my dis-ability, I get better treatment around here. Maybe I should practice my acting so I can be taken seriously? lol

Either way, apparently I have nothing that suggest arthritis -- I think the research continues... my own search is pointing towards a potential auto-immune condition of some kind... but this looks like a needle in hay stay.

I'll try finding an orthopedician. I haven't explored that avenue yet.

Thanks again.

All the best!

Hi there!

Blood tests cannot determine the presence or absence of arthritis/ psoriatic arthritis. Psoriatic arthritis does not typically affect the back. Without a detailed description of the issues or a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. I would suggest an evaluation by a rheumatologist or an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
