Yes, relafen can be used to help with osteoarthritis. Discuss it with your doctor and talk about using it in conjunction with something else to help manage the pain.
I have Osteoarthritis, The only medication I have been given since it was diagnosed nearly four years ago is painkillers :Paracetamol/Dihydrocdeine. I wonder if Refafan is suitable for this condition as I find my current medication is becoming less effective and am concerned with the addictive properties of Dihydrocdeine.
The pain I feel when the tablets wear off is much the same as the pain I felt before I started on them, only it varied from day to day and some days were much better than others. Now it's ten out of ten after about five to six hours when the medication wears off.
I would be most grateful for your comments on this. Thank you.
I am a Nurse Practitioner and also have degenerative joint disease. I have been on Relafan for 6 years and write it for my patients with chronic back, hip and knee pain from arthritis. It moved me from acute need for narcotics on a weekly basis to a rare occassional weekend resting in my favorite chair. One of the problems I see is that patients expect it to act overnigt. It takes time for Relafan to reach a therapeutic level and the person has to accept the idea that this is going to be a life long behavior (taking the medication). Many are used to a as needed therapy and not familiar with the concept of taking charge of their pain management.

I have arthritis of the spine. My doctor recently gave me a prescription for relafan. This is the only medication I've taken that got rid of my pain AND gave me back a full range of motion. I love it!
Hello! I have talked to people with both conditions who have taken this drug. I know that early on I used it and was later switched to Naproxen.
