Rheumatoid factor

My RA factor was 20 last year.  What is the normal range for the rheumatoid factor?

I think normal is anything below 20.  All ranges our different but my test said anything <20 is considered normal.

Hi ..i just went for a routine test and found RF to be 38 and elevated ESR and CRP ..I am 30 and have no aches and pains or nay symptoms...also just about this time, I saw bright red blood with stool...can it be related...I have family history of RA. Can blood tests alone diagnose RA.I have no symptoms.Yet.

Eight months ago I was in so much pain specially in my hands, I went to the doctor and my test came back positive RA factor 26. I was refered to a Reumatologist and he said that I don't have RA because the other factors? came back negative and he explain to me that because my mother has RA I came back positive but not necessary I have RA??? I can go a month or so feeling ok and then all the sudden I get this pain in my hand, heels and between my legs, chills and no energy and three times in the last 8 months I got some big red blotches in my  arms, legs and neck  and they treat them with steroids.  my question is: If  it isn't RA  what is it?  I'm fustrated, my doctor can't give me an answer neither the Reumatologist.
