Shoulder pain in muscel area

I took a fall last year and after the fall I thought I had broken some bones ,I hurt so bad, went to the doctor she says it's arthritisthat i had just got it all acting up from the fall, now my problem is everytime i do lifting with yhat hand and arm, I hurt so bad for a week or more, it feels as if some one used it for a punching bad, this is not the bone but tissue in the musel part of the arm.
My dotor put me on 600 mgs of motrin twice a day, no releif,also i have darvocet for my slip disc they don't help either.
My son had surgery recently and was given oxecoden, I took one of them since threw the year I have taken them without problems, but that did not help. Neith does hot or cold packs or hot showers,HELP please
