Test Results

I just had a physical where they did many blood test..I'm not sure which test I had. I think it was  SedRate anyway the nurse called and said my test was abnormal and was '54' I think..I have no idea what is normal and what is not. I am being refered to a Rhumetologist, but in the mean time I'm to do a 24hr urine test (I also had a high sugar level) is this urine test for the sugar or arthritis..also, what is the next step when you get a high sugar level result. Thank you

Hi and welcome to our forum!  Your SED rate has to do with sign of inflammation.  54 is definitely elevated, but you are not through the roof.  It is great they are sending you to a rhematologist.  Do you have any questions or concerns about seeing one?  What do you think you may have or is this a surprise to you?

The 24 hr urine test is to check your sugar.  When I had mine checked I had to go to a lab fasting, drink fluid and then have my blood drawn every hour for 4 hours.  I was STARVING when it was done.  
As my test came back normal, I am not sure where things go from there.  While we do have a few diabetic members who would know more, your best bet might be the diabetic forum.
