Very high CPK levels for no reason.

Very high CPK levels for no reason.

Hi!
When I was about 6 years old I fell at a supermarket  couldnt get up as my legs felt a bit weak. Went to the doctor who diagnosed me with muscular dystrophy after looking at my blood test results- My CPK levels were at about 1300. I went for an EMG test in Jordan and they found nothing wrong with my muscular activity. My family were not convinced so they sent me to Canada for another EMG test- which also showed that there is absolutely nothing wrong with me! after going through all the test and scans related to elevated CPK levels, I had several reports stating that I have unexplained high CPK levels. I am now 26 years old, I work out 5 times a week and have been doing so for the past 6 years, I feel fine, I have no muscle weakness whatsoever! Out of curiousy I went to check my CPK levels (18 years later) and they are still very high - at 1500! Can anyone advise me ? Can someone have high CPK levels for no apparent reason??

I found a great explanation of CPK here http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Urology/elevated-cpk-levels-what-is-it/show/225687.  I also read that there can be false postives.  Even with that possibility, I think some further exploration would be good.  There are things that can cause high results that are not associated with heart, brain or muscle conditions.  Has your thyroid been checked?  Do you have any symptoms of any kind?  Did the results come back as MB, MM or BB?

I am not sure but I think they came back as MB.
Thyroid was checked all is fine, i'v been to the top 3 neurologists in the middle east and they told me that there is nothing wrong. They said that I have high CPK levels for no reason whatsoever. Plus it has been 20 years already with the same readings... dont you think some symptoms would have popped up already ?  I dont have any symptoms, I run for 50 minutes everyday and benchpress 300lbs. I really dont know what else to consider .

Have they checked your heart?  These results can indicate a condition residing there.  It could be that you have high levels for no good reason, but I would want to be sure every possibility was fully explored before I accepted that as the final word.
