Warmups to avoid tendonitis?

Tossing teddybears with pre-schoolers is a not-to-be-missed activity but I pay dearly in tendonitis and the pains often last even into the next day.  Pushing grocery carts also brings it on and Walmart's heavy ones are really killers.

It occurs to me that  warming up somehow might help?

P.S. Physical Therapist two years ago said I can no longer use even 1 lb weights with my left arm; and the right was limited to 2 lb. (I'm right-handed.)

Hi there!

Treatment of active tendonitis involves limiting the movement around the joint to provide rest to the tendon, while anti-inflammatory medications/ measures may be used occasionally. You could try using a crepe bandage that would help decrease the mobility slightly. Regular physiotherapy is something that may be beneficial as well.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

Thank you.  On the worst days the Ace (crepe) bandage does help.  Sadly, my doc does not seem to think more physical therapy is in order.

However, I belatedly realized that I had stopped a daily dose of 2 T dried tart Montmorency cherries (Trader Joe's carries them) just before the tendonitis onslaught.    So -- back to the cherries!  After a week of my 2T three times a day, the tendonitis flares up less so I'm now trying to cut back to the old once a day regimen.  (It's a lot of sugar which is why I cut them out in the first place.  Luckily, I'm not a diabetes candidate.)
