Hi - both my daughters had bouts of reactive arthritis and were negative HLA B27.  TXsilver has given you terrific advice!  My daughters' lasted about 2 yrs but that is not the norm at all ... it usually goes away after the infection clears and you are under the care of good rheumatologist.

It is possible that the arthritis pain you are experiencing is reactive arthritis.  This type of arthritis occurs after an infection. It can be a short term condition lasting months or, in a some cases, it can become chronic.  What is your doctor doing to treat your joint pain?  Has he/she tested you to see if you are HLA B27 positive?  That is a genetic marker that is present in a family of conditions called Spondylotharapies of which reactive arthritis is a member.
