I am 42 and have been on Enbrel for 8 years now. The Sureclick was no good for me because I can't stand not knowing if it is all in me or not. Also, the two most feared things in the world to me are needles and knives. I waited a full month before building the courage to give myself my first injection and it literally stared working overnight. I have very mild AS and have a fairly large dose of Reactive Arthritis (Reiters' syndrome). Both knees, one toe, neck and both wrists. I literally went from laying in bed for one full year to a point where I can do everything from light jogging to mountainbiking, hiking, home construction, kayak fishing, jet skiing and even wakeboarding. I work out 3 to 4 days a week and have gained my life back due to Enbrel. When I come off of it for a week or so, I really can feel the inflammation coming back quickly so I know my Reiters' is still active. Mine is constant...it does not really flare as long as I keep with the Enbrel. I switched from the 50mg doses to two 25's per week but find myself not taking the second one most weeks. No sense in overwhelming the body with chemicals it doesn't need IMO. Once you start to get your life back with Enbrel, I highly encourage you to seek out physical fitness to help keep it that way. You need to take advantage of the good days/weeks to get your muscles and joints in shape for the next time your disease takes you down a notch. Don't get complacent and take a direct roll in your healing. Oh yea...start eating as well as you can afford as well! We bought a nutribullet and grind up a health shake or 2 per day as well to keep fruits and vegies at the forefront of our diet. That way I can pound a good grilled ribeye or some fried fish now and then and feel like I have an even score :)
This could be a muscle problem, I would think a disc problem would affect you at night too but I could be wrong. What have you tried to relieve the discomfort? How long has this been going on? What makes it better and what makes it worse?
