bone chips

I had hip replacement in Feb.2008.  I found out in June 2008 that I have bone chips that have adheared to my new hip.  I now do not have the range of motion on that side that I should have.  My surgeon told me that my body produced the bone chips.  I'm wondering if this is possible.  I had my other hip replaced in June and I had to go for radiation on the new hip so that the same thing does not happen to it.  Does anyone know about these bone chips?

Hi.  I have heard that this sometimes happens with joint replacements.  It was explained to me (by another patient) as an immune response to the replacement hardware that does not happen in every patient.
