Does anyone know if arthritic changes in thoracic spine can cause a compression in one of the vertebrae? I had an x-ray after having constant back pain and the result was compression of the vertebrae and spurring. If the arthritis didn't cause the compression, could a very old injury ( 30 years+), which resulted in fracture of a verterbrae, cause a compression so many years later?
I'm scheduled to have a bone scan and bone density test but wonder why not an MRI instead of bone scan?
