dislocate disc in lower back

i have just found out i have a dislocate disc in my lower back,it is very painful sometimes i can't bend my back it hurts and i also drag my legs,but i fined out i mite have to do sergery (surgery) i want to know if i would i am looking for some answers please help.....

You did not say which disc it is but It sounds like it is a lower lumbar disc and that it has possibly affected the sciatica nerve. Your doctor will have to do an MRI or CT scan to find out which disc it is. You need to let him know about the problem with your legs. I have herniated Lumbar discs L3-L4, L4-L5 and L5-S1 which has caused nerve damage to the sciatica. I have numbness in my right leg and my foot is Ice cold to the touch. Mine is inoperable, I would have mixed feelings if they could operate however now a days they can do SO much to help relieve disc problems without causing paralysis. Its a good sign that they will be able to operate! There are many people here who might have more information on the surgery. I am sure they will be around soon and offer more informative answers. Since mine can't be operated on I can't offer you advise with that.
Just make sure you let your doctor know about any changes, good or bad. Hopefully they have you on something that is helping to relieve your pain.
Also, you may want to post this in the back and neck pain forum, I just noticed its in the arthritis forum.

Always get a second opinion on things.  Research and prepare a list of questions for your appointments.  If  you are not comfortable with a suggested treatment or plan of action or surgery then I would not do it.  You have to feel right about it or it will make you crazy! Good luck.
