extreme pain in left leg

All of this started about 1 year ago,last few vertabreas are tender to touch,going over to rear hip bone and to the front hip bone like someone large is squeezing it extreme pain in all these areas down to my knee and complete numbness on the whole outer left side of my leg.Sitting is shearly impossible for  no mor than a few minutes.Walking hurts also, lifting my left leg to get in the car i have to use my right arm to lift it in.Also lots of pulling and taring on left side of abdamin.I haven't been able to go to a doctor because of insurance,in the process of getting it. bending over picking things up or putting on shoes or tieing them.please send so information please

Problems of the lower back can lead to radiating pain down the lower extremities.  

I would consider an MRI of the lower spine to evaluate for any disk herniation.  This can impinge on the nerves, leading to your symptoms.  

Spinal stenosis can also be considered, and would be seen on the MRI.  

I would also consider vascular causes like claudication - this can be evaluated by a physician who can examine your lower extremity pulses.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

I had forgotten 6 years ago i was diagnosed with spondylaropathy, or psoractic arthritis.Plus when my father turned 50 which i also did this past summer,the doctors treated him with herniated disc but the 2inch span they took of his back showed what they thought was a shadow in his kindey. In reality  was kidney cancer in the mean time of treating the disc the cancer spread well you know 5 months later he passed.
