Problems of the lower back can

I would consider an MRI of the lower spine to evaluate for any disk herniation. This can impinge on the nerves, leading to your symptoms.
Spinal stenosis can also be considered, and would be seen on the MRI.
I would also consider vascular causes like claudication - this can be evaluated by a physician who can examine your lower extremity pulses.
