hands swell at night
Several months ago I started experiencing hand swelling at night.  I have been doing computer work 40+ hours a week for the past 20+ years.  My hands don't usually swell, tingle, go numb or hurt during the day.  I have seen my family doctor, an orthopaedic hand specialist and a neurologist.  Blood work, XRays, Nerve Study don't reveal anything specific.  The tests don't readily indicate carpal tunnel or arthritis.  My nerve functions are normal.  The best they could tell me was that maybe I have carpal tunnel symptoms but not the actual syndrome.  One other suggestion was to go see a rheumatoid arthritis specialist.  Splints don't work.  I tried a few different prescriptions for anti-inflammatory but they upset my stomach more than anything.  I started sleeping with a pillow next to me so that I can not turn on my side and sleep with my hands pressed together - either behind my head or between my legs - like I am accustomed to sleeping.  That hasn't helped a whole lot.  My husband even bought me one of those magnetic therapy bracelets.  Still no real improvement.  HELP!?

I know this sounds silly, but you may want to change your diet and see if that helps. Cut the salt (and pre-packaged foods, fast-food, etc..) out all together. See if this helps, I bet it will... Good luck!
