i have artritis in my forth and fifth lumbar

Arthritis cannot be cured as it is a degenerative disease. It can be managed with medication and physical exercise though. When your doctor said he can clean the arthritis off, I'm assuming they are talking about bone spurs that sometimes happen. That doesn't mean they are getting rid of your arthritis, they are just taking out the bone spurs to help ease the pain.
