mild arthritis in the clavicle

I have a friend who has a growth on her right clavicle. The doctor she went to said that she had a mild arthritis. He didn't prescribe anything for the pain that she is in and the pains getting worse. So I was looking for a second opinion. Most of the people that have a mild arthritis here, seem to have no pain. Does she have a more dramatic form, and what should she do to get rid of the pain?
