Welcome to our forum!

The diagnosis is important. Ask the doctor what is your problem?
If it is osteoarthritis then you can start oral medications. Paracetamol etc.

If it is injury or something he wants to fix? He has to explain all the pros and cons and then only advice for a surgery.

You can always take a second opinion on this and visit an expert orthopaedician.

We advice you to take pain killers and the treatment can only start after proper diagnosis and for this your history and symptoms are very important.

Take care and come back to us for further queries.
