I injured my shoulder lifting weights.  I was doing curls when the injury occured, though the pain is primarily located in my shoulder.  It has gotten better but only moderately.  It happened roughly 3-4 weeks ago so I'm becoming concerned.  The pain is most severe when I apply pressure against my arm, as in the fassion of a curl, and press upward.  The pain is most centered at the top of the shoulder and at the front of the shoulder slightly extending to the bicep.  Could this be the result of a rotator cuff tear or strain?  What other possible injuries is this?  Could it be permenant?  How long does a strain take to heal as this is what I'm hoping it is and not something more adverse?

yes, pain at the top and front of the shoulder is possibly a rotator cuff strain, but also could be more permanent problems like an acromioclavicular joint separation
