swelling in left ankle

hi guys, I've got a Arthritis question about 2 months ago i hit my left ankle on the top of my foot against my side rail of my bed pretty hard it swelled up big time i could not feel anything untill now the swelling is the same no change on Monday i goto Harbor View to see a specialist a arthritis specialist that is i had three xrays all ready same thing arthritis again could xrays be wrong i even had a mri ct scan same thing i'm at a loss i think i might have fractured it slightly but it feel better please someone help me it is swollen on the out side of my ankle i'm floating my foot to keep the swelling down i'll let you guys know what harbor view said i'll keep you posted

It is hard to say if the hit and the arthritis is a coincidence or if the hit might have triggered it.  Do try and alternate ice and heat and ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen can help with the swelling.  Do let us know what they say.
