Burning sensation

Burning sensation

A few days ago I started having this burning sensation in both nipples but they were cold when I touched them and they would really burn if anything touched or rub I could not wear a bra and I could hardly wear a shirt. I am due for my period in a couple of days, but that is not one of my normal symptoms before it comes. I usually get lower back pain, swollen and tender breasts and have not had these yet. Any ideas what it could be?

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

The symptoms could be related to your period.  Another possibility is a yeast infection (this is often described as a burning pain).  Make sure that you are wearing cotton bras (cotton is a breathable fabric). Wait and see if the pain goes away. You could try an antifungal cream (they are available over the counter) to see if that helps.  If the symptoms persist, see your doctor.  Good luck.
