Concussion.

G'day. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's. I've had previous head injuries: 1 contusion, few concussion & several other serious injuries even causing amnesia (twice) for weeks. This is my first concussion since my last serious injury which cause amnesia, mild hearing loss, etc. I don't have a family doctor, so I'm wondering if these symptoms should be seen by a doctor. I'd rather not go to a walk in clinic for possibly hours if it seems to not be serious. Also, are there any suggestions to help with pain, aside from avoiding thinking such as doing my Uni. asssignments. With my other injuries I don't recall anything aside from Tylenol & the usual. I appreciate any input about this. Thank you for your time.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

You need to see a doctor for follow up care.  What you describe is a worsening of symptoms and definitely warrants follow up.  Were you seen by a doctor 9 days ago when this concussion occured?  If you were seen at the time of the initial injury, then go back to the clinic or doctor that you were first treated with.  They will have your medical exam and any CT Scans that were done at that time.  This is good to have for comparison.

Good luck.
