Favorite food

Hello, I am 18 years old and while on campus walking down the front steps of the student center (relatively large steps, imagine what the front steps to most buildings in D.C. look like) I decided to slide down the rail running down the middle of the steps. I got around 15 feet (picking up considerable speed)  before i fell off and landing primarily on my left arms outside edge of my ulna. The pain at first was very constant and intense but after around 10 minutes it subsided. Bruising occurred relatively quickly (around 10 minutes if not earlier). It has been 3 days since the incident and most of the color of the bruise has subsided but I read online that after waiting awhile that rubbing a sever bruise  will breakdown scar tissue. While rubbing the part of the bruise around my bone i felt the sensation of pieces of rubber rubbing together or very small pieces of gravel. I am not sure if the fall might have caused some of the bone to fracture or crack off ( i do notice a slight dip in my bone along the bruise). The bruise is relatively large and runs 3 inches along the bone and 3 inches belong the bone. Should i be concerned that this could be a long term or serious injury or something that RICE could take care of. Thank you very much!

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

I was wondering what your favorite food had to do with an arm injury!!  I think you should have an x-ray done of your arm to be sure that everything is intact.  It sounds like you had a significant fall and it is possible that you did some damage.  In the meantime, RICE is a good thing to do, but get it checked out.  Good luck.
