I  smelt a strong onion like odor coming from my vagina. I've smelt it before after having sex,and now this time right after I took a bath and had no sexual contact. What could that be?

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

The presence of a strong vaginal odor can be the result of an infection.  This may or may not be accompanied by a vaginal discharge.  If the smell persists, you should see your ob/gyn for an evaluation to check for any type of infection.  In the meantime, avoid using perfumed soaps/ body washes to the area as this can make matters worse.  Use a simple antibacterial soap and rinse the area well.  Be sure to wear clean, dry undergarments (preferably cotton since it is an absorbent and breathable material).
