Pink skin

Hi ive got two small cuts on my face. one by my eyebrow and one on my nose from rugby. They scabbed over and healed perfectly as they were quite deep and bled a little. when the scab fell off on both cuts it left pink skin which started of really red and now is pink. Its been about a week and how long will it take to heal and how can i promote a faster recovery? because its on my face and id really like for the pink skin to turn back to normal fast.

Well Its been about 2 weeks. and the 1st week and a half it was really red and no improvement. I applied aloe vera and coco butter to it and it seem to have no effect. So i decided to try nothing and just leave it, i applied nothing to the scars and when i washed my face i cleaned around the scars and just forgot about them. It has been two days since i started an there has been huge improvement. I can bearly see them, unless i look closely there is slight pinkish colour in each scar. but hardly noticable. So im going on holiday for a few days and hopefully when i return my skin will be completly normal. thanks

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

It can take a while for your skin to become less pink.  Be sure to wear sunscreen to prevent discoloration of that new skin.  There are over the counter scar treatments (such as Mederma) which can help lessen the appearance of a scar.  You could try that as well (follow the instructions on the box).  Another option is vitamin E, which can help keep the skin soft and promote healing.  Other than these options, you just have to wait and give it time.  If you are concerned about the appearance of the skin, you may want to see a dermatologist.  Good luck.

Well, I'm not a doctor or anything, but i learned that if u put on Bacitracin Zinc Ointment USP it can help. I will leave a scar, but I was be a skin tone. If not u could try scar clears and such. I use that instead of Neoporin Just because i'm allgeric to it. So it could help. i not anytype of ontiment usually helps, me  anyways!
