Well, first of all I would suggest that you get a second or third opinion. Doctors are very smart, and very good at what they do, but they are also human, and it is impossible for anyone to know everything. Not to scare you because I do not think this is your situation, but I had a friend who was experiencing a lot of pain in her left lower abdomen and was told for over a year that she needed to take stomach medications and would be fine. Well finally she convinced the doctor to do a colocoscopy at which point they discovered that she had end stage colon cancer and she died at age 24. What I do think may be your problem (not that I am in any way qualified to diagnose you) is that the flora in your bowels are out of balance. Bowel health is VERY important, and if you have an unhealthy bowel it can cause mulitple symptoms. Like Dr. Oz always says "death begins in our bowels" and bowel problems can make you feel very sick. Also you immune system is very dependant on your bowel health, so stabilizing the flora in your bowel can greatly strengthen your immune system. To make a long story a little less long, the way that you do this is to either eat a lot of yogurt, or they way I prefer is to take a probiotic, which you can get at any pharmacy. It's either a pill or a powder that has cultures in it that after ingestion become the good bacteria that you need in your gut. I even started giving it to my 5 month old son who had such bad constipation that he was hospitalized 2 times for impacted stool. He also got sick a lot like the rest of us before we started taking it. Now we are all much healthier and we feel great and have more energy. I really hope you take my addvice and don't forget to discuss it with your doctor too.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

You could have anything from a stomach virus to a chronic irritable bowel.  You really need to see your doctor to find out what is going on.  When you see the doctor, try to be very specific about your symptoms (abdominal pain- L side, nausea, changes on bowel habits).  Try to stick to your current symptoms and not every ache or pain that you have had since you have seen them last.  This helps the doctor focus on where the problem is.  You don't say how long you have been having these abdominal symptoms, but if it is more than a few days, then it really should be evaluated- especially if there is blood in your stool.

Good Luck.
