broken vien

i popped a vien in im finger trying to open a jar, it hurt and turned purple instantly.. should i worrie? why would that happen?

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

The vein probably popped from the pressure of trying to open the jar.  The purple color is caused by the blood coming out of the vein and being under the skin.  The blood will get reabsorbed and the purple color will fade (just like a bruise).  IF this is a one time incident, then I would not worry about it.  If you find that this is happening frequently, you might want to see your doctor.  Good luck.
