HI and thanks for using the forum.

Generally speaking, you should see a doctor if you experience periods of unexplained dizzyness or vertigo for more than a week.

What you have described sounds like BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo).  BPPV is characterized by a brief episode of mild to moderate dizzyness and is usually triggered by a change in position (such as lying down).  BPPV is usually not serious, except that it increase the chance for falls.  Treatment includes a series of head movements that can help alleviate the symptoms.

I hope this information is helpful.  Good luck.

Thank you for explaining anatomy form me. That's right, the head bone is connected to the neck bone. I have to tell my doctor about that.

I don't remember exactly what his manipulations were (it was a few years ago), but it definitely was my head and not my neck that he adjusted. It worked for my and you have nothing to lose by trying it.

Yes. I told my doctor about it and he adjusted my head (something I did not know was possible). Then I was fine. (My MD also has training as a chiropractor.)
