ingrown hair.

my partner had an ingrown hair by his tail bone. I pulled it out and it turned out to be about 4-6hairs about an inch long. he still has a big hard lump where it was and heaps of pain. what is it and what should we do??

HI and thanks for using the forum.

It sounds like your parner may have a pilonidal cyst.   This is a cyst that can form at the base of the tailbone.  They can be very painful.  You can try warm soaks to the area, but often these types of cysts need to be lanced and drained by a doctor.  Your partner can try the warm soaks and see if they notice any improvement.  IF the soaks don't help, then you should make an appointment with the doctor.  It is a failry simple procedure.  I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Your partner needs to soak in a bath of 1/2 cup of bleach with a full bath tub of water. Then get some of prid sav at the store and after the bath put a bandage of pride sav and see if the numb goes down. My son keeps getting those hard bumps and the doctor tells me to give him bleach baths.
