skin sensitivity

hi,
i'm 22 yrs old. I noticed that recently my pain tolerance has gone way down and that things are taking longer to heal than they should. A few months ago I was building something with a hot glue gun, i burned myself with it many times, but on time i burnt my hand really bad- i could not take my hand out of water for hours and after that i had to fall asleep with an ice pack on it, if i took it off for just a few seconds it really hurt, burn cream did nothing-
everyone thought i was overreacting, (i normally have a high pain tolerance, i have 5 tattoos) but it literally hurt so much that i could not stand it-
About a week ago a swinging cable hit me in the face and i had a really bad head ache for 3 days. It felt like it shouldn't have done that much damage, but again, it really hurt.
And today i burned myself on a theater lamp- something i have done countless times before, and on instruments that were hotter than this one, and again, the pain lasted for the rest of the day, it hurts right now, burn cream did nothing.
It seems like the things i burned myself on should not have been hot enough to make a blister, but both did-

i think there is nothing wrong, maybe it is stress, maybe i just hurt myself more than i though each of those times- but i wrote this anyway because something seems different.

Hi and thank you for using the forum.

It sounds like the injuries that you have had are pretty serious.  Burns are very painful and take time to heal depending on how severe they are.  Being hit in the face with a swinging cable is also serious (this is something that could even cause a concussion!).  It does not seem unreasonable to me that you would find these injuries to be painful or that they took some time to recover from.  If your burn from the glue gun has still not healed or if your headache has not gone away then you might want to see a doctor.  Also, if your tetnus shot is not up to date (within the last 5 years), then you should get a tetnus booster- this is usually recommended with burn injuries.

Good luck and be careful!
