swollen clitoris

Hi. My clitoris is extremely swollen and painful from over stimulation... today is the forth day.  I have been putting cold compress which helps with the pain but not so much for the swelling.  I know it needs to heal but can you give me an idea of how long it will take and any suggestions as to speed up the process?

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

Continue to use the cool compresses.  You can also take ibuprofen (if you are not allergic) which can help with the pain as well a reduce swelling.  Wear loose fitting pants to avoid further irritating the area.  Also, be sure to wear cotton undewear since this material is soft, absorbent and allows for air flow.  If you don't see an improvement after a few more days, then you should see your ob/gyn or your regular doctor to make sure that there is not something else going on (such as a yeast infection or some other type of vaginal/skin infection).  Good luck.

Hi Bridget thanks for your response.  I have continued to use the compress but it is only slightly better.  I do not have any infection ie yeast or std but the swelling was so uncomfortable that I swabbed on tea tree oil... almost immediately it started burning and the skin seemed to harden, within hours it left a sore and now I am even more uncomfortable.  I do not know what to do now and this is all so embarassing to go see a doctor :(
