Alternative to beta blockers?

Is there any alternatives to beta blockers that I should discuss with my GP? Propranolol in the long term seems to cause or worsen depression. What are other safe choices?

Some alternatives to beta blockers would be calcium channel blockers such as Calan and antiarrhythmia drugs such as Tambocor, Procanbid, Cordarone, and Betapace. Please discuss these choices with your doctor.
