Is Amantadine as likely to cause nausea as Sinemet?

For patients taking Amantadine, 1-10% have reported nausea and <1% vomiting.  For Sinemet the results are similar, 5.7% report nausea and 1.9% experience vomiting. So Amantadine is not likely to cause less nausea and vomiting.

Adverse GI effects are common in patients taking Sinemet (carbidopa/levodopa). It can be taken with food to offset nausea. But food, especially high-protein or high-fat foods, could interfere with levodopa absorption.
