Anxiety

My husband is 55 and has just started taking lexapro for anxiety. He says it makes him feell more anxious. Help!

Your husband should consult with his physician immediately if his anxiety worsens when starting Lexapro. The recommended starting dose for Lexapro when used for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder is 10mg once daily. Anxiety is listed as a known side-effect of Lexapro and the physician should be alerted; the physician may decide to continue the drug with closer monitoring, or to use a different drug from the same drug class or a different drug from a different drug class.
