Aripiprazole side effects?

by Rachel_X, Apr 12, 2009 02:31AM
I've now been taking Aripiprazole for the last two weeks.  I have found it to have a beneficial effect on the symptoms it was prescribed for but I have also had a few new symptoms that I'm not sure are side effects or not.  Firstly, I have been extremely dizzy and keep getting dizzy spells or spells where I feel completely detached from the world.  I woke up this morning and felt as though I'd been spinning on the spot for half an hour.  I am also getting some random jerking and a tremor.  The tremor isn't continuous though.  When I've had this with previous antipsychotics it's been continual.  I have also been getting some of the symptoms I used to get with a migraine but without the pain although some of these preceeded the Abilify prescription - my voice sounds wrong, I say the wrong words, sometimes I seem to forget everything half way through doing it and it's obvious to other people and now the sizes of things are becoming distorted.   My hands look huge as I type.  Sometimes everything looks huge and I feel like I've shrunk.

Do you think any of these things require attention and could they be caused by the  drugs I'm on or could I get anything to help with them?  Things only seemed to start when my lithium prescription was increased before Christmas.

Dizziness and tremors are common adverse effects of Abilify and lithium. Discuss what you're experiencing with your physician, he may adjust your dose.
