Cream for wound

Patient Age: 75Age: 75
Gender: Male

Hi,

My granddad has a wound on his leg which has not healed since past 3 months. We have been regularly dressing him, but the infection seems to have spread. Doctors say the issue is lack of blood circulation in his legs. Basically he has been bed-ridden since past 6 months. My question was, is there a protein or a growth hormone cream which you can suggest which can help in such conditions

Without knowing the extent of the wound or what has been tried, you may consider Regranex. It's a topical cream indicated for the treatment of leg and foot ulcers that are not healing in diabetic patients. Regranex is a recombinant form of human platelet-derived growth factor which is applied directly to diabetic foot and leg ulcers. Growth factors cause cells to divide more rapidly.

However, the FDA recently issued a safety alert for Regranex. In a long term safety study completed in 2001, there were more deaths from cancer in people who used 3 tubes or more of Regranex than in those who did not use it.
