Dothiepin + SSRI + Graves

Dothiepin + SSRI + Graves

Hi there,

I often have trouble sleeping - both getting to sleep and staying asleep. My doctor doesn't like to prescribe zopiclone at all but at my last meds review he let me have enough to take once a week for a month, which is all I asked for.

We then did a brief Q & A to ***** my mood over the last month. I would agree with the results that despite feeling generally quite low and not sleeping well, things are not that bad.

After this, to my surprise, he prescribed Dothiepin 75mg to be taken a couple of hours before retiring.

My question to you is this - what are the contraindications for taking Dothiepin with SSRIs and anti thyroid meds and/or Grave's disease? Isn't Dothiepin a tri-cyclic? Won't I end up with too much Serotonin?

Thank you.
