ACE inhibitors, a class of drugs used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disorders, were developed from the venom of a Brazilian snake. Snakes use venom to alter biological functions, and that's what medicine does too. They used the process of learning how the venom altered those functions to create the drug class called ACE inhibitors. The medication does not include snake venom.
