What is the best medication to prevent/slow down arthritis?

Unfortunately, there aren't any medications to prevent arthritis. NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are usually used to treat symptoms. Sometimes patients are given steroid shots in the affected joint which can help alleviate pain during a flare.
