I was only on it for a short while due to other side effects i went off.  I was told that when you go on a medicine that helps anxiety or depression it's almost like you finally feel better so you relax and eat and drink more because of feeling better.  I always had a problem with that answer but that is what I was told.  I think the medicine does something to our chemical make up.  Drink lots of water and increase your exersize and maybe whatever chemical is still in your bodies make up will finally release itself and the weight will come with it.  I wish you luck.

I have NEVER in my life had to watch my weight!  I gained 30 lbs. on Paxil.  NO ONE can tell me Paxil does not cause some people to gain weight.  Now the question is?  Will it come off?

IT DOES CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN. i have gained 30 pounds.  Look at all the posts on here.  Maybe the trials were not long enough.  You dont gain the weight right away its a very gradual process.  I suggest u read the comments on this forum and also got paxilprogress.com.  Paxil DOES cause weight gain.  Try it and see for yourself.

Paxil is not known to cause weight gain. In clinical trials, weight gain by people on Paxil was the same as for placebo, and therefore not deemed an adverse effect.

The best way is to exercise regularly (at least 30 minutes 4-5 times a week)and watch your calorie intake.
