Medication for sedation?

Medication for sedation?

My 94 year-old father is on several medications, but he has become extremely obsessive about many issues beyond the "normal" aging person.  His constant nagging, anger, outbursts, etc. are taking a toll on all of us, especially my 92 year-old mother.  He is very controlling and is basically a tyrant, doing a anything to get his own way.  His hygiene is almost non-existent, which is miserable for my mother or anyone else who is around him, yet he wants us to take him places.  Please, is there any kind of medication which a doctor may prescribe to calm this man down?  I believe there is an element of paranoia as well.
