I have been prescribed 20 mgs of Omeprazole (Prilosec) as a daily medication for nearly eight years now. Is that normal or is it possibly harmful?

To prevent relapse of certain conditions, chronic therapy of omeprazole may be necessary. The maintenance dosage is usually 20 mg once daily.
