Retin-A Micro

I was wondering what the mode of action for Retin-A micro is? Does the topical application of Retin-A accelerate the growth of skin making the cells divide faster? How does Retin-A work with the skin? The information online was rather varied. Thanks!

Tretinoin modifies gene expression, subsequent protein synthesis, and epithelial cell growth and differentiation. It basically works by increasing the turnover (death and replacement) of skin cells.
