Side effects of Abilify

by roh72, Oct 31, 2009 08:13AM
I recently started taking Abilify and am experiencing uncontrolled shaking and light-headedness.  What are the side effects of Abilify and are these a couple of them.  Should I try something else to help with my depression.  THe Psych.  said that this in concert with my prozac should help me out.

Thanks for your help.

Lightheadedness and uncontrollable shaking are side effects of Abilify. Some other ones are weight gain, nausea and dizziness.  Prozac interacts with Abilify and may increase the concentration of Abilify in your body. That may be the reason why you are experiencing the side effects. If you just started on Abilify then you should go talk to your doctor and let him know that you cannot tolerate the side effects and be put on something else.

If you look up "Ability Side Effects" on the internet you will see some of the symptoms you mention. You are taking an awful lot of drugs. Are they all necessary?

Be careful with Abilify, it has a tenancy to make patients manic. If you are noticing that you require less sleep or feel elated during the day, please speak with your doctor as this is usually not the desired side effect. Abilify is now being marketed for those with depression. But it was used in clinical trials for bi-polar disorder... This is a strong anti-psychotic so please be careful.
