Zantac 150

Zantac 150

After a bout with stomach flu I was having acid reflux so I began to take 1 pill of Zantac150 a day. My question is although i am finished taking Zantac, has Zantac permanently hindered my stomach from producing as much acid as it did? Are the effects of Zantac permanent?

The stomach acid reducing effects of Zantac (ranitidine) are not permanent. Normal acid production should resume 24 hours after the last dose of Zantac.  Long term adverse effects from Zantac are extremely rare. Consult your physician if you are still having digestive problems.
