burning esophogus

burning esophogus

I hurt my knee last weekend playing ball and have been on ketoprofene since sunday, only took a painkiller once a couple of days ago. With this said, I started getting a burning in my esophogus yesterday morning about an hour after taking the ketoprofene. I have not taken another pill for about 30 hours. The burning is so bad I can't sleep and I've taken a brand called pepciduo (with famotidine) as an antacid, I've already taken two which is my daily limit, but I still have the burning which is debilitating. I've had a burning pain like this. Athough too much garlic can upset me, which I haven't eaten, this is entirely different, it isn't calming down. What can I take? Unfortunately my doctor can't see me until monday but I can't bear this for another three days. I am not overweight, I don't drink, nor spoke, could stress do this?

Were you able to see your doctor? Here in the US, there are other types of medications available over the counter for heartburn such as Prilosec (omeprazole) and Prevacid (lansoprazole). I am not sure if these are available in your country.
