suffering of itchiness and dryness from labia outside of the lips, around pubic hair

Just a few questions: Do you have any discharge? What other symptoms do you have? Do you have pain?  It could be just vaginal dryness and you could use a moisturizer such as Replens. It could be a yeast infection and I would recommend seeing a doctor first before you try to treat it. It is more important to find out what the cause is in order to treat it properly or else it will linger and won’t heal properly.  But if you are not willing, then I would use the canesten vaginal cream. You should put one applicatorful at bedtime into your vagina for 7 days.
