klonopin dosing

ive been taking klonopin for 8 months now tried to taper a few months back got down to 1/4 a day couldnt handle the withdrawels so i reinstated my 0.5 about a month ago.my question is ive been taking 1/4 every 8 hours. i tried the 1/2 every 12 hours but felt better on the 1/4 every 8 hours. is this the right way to take this medication? i get a little confused. some say 1/4 every 6 hours do you have any insights into this dosage? tyvm   jenny

A tapering schedule varies for each person, so what works best for someone else may not work the same for you.  If 1/4 tablet every 8 hours works for you, stay on that dose for 1 week.  Then you can reduce to every 12 hours for 1 week, then once a day, etc. until you are off the medication.
