swollen palm

by amccreer, Jul 01, 2009 10:14AM
For over a year now i have had a area on the palm of my hand which feels bumpy and swollen, it is around the base of my thumb.  As i am feeling the direction of the swelling i am convinced it seems to follow a muscle in my hand (flexor Pollicis brevis).  I am not experiencing any pain but if i extend my thumb as far as i can it generally just feels 'tight'.  i am unsure of what is going on and am afraid that eventually it could effect my thumbs range of motion.  Any ideas???

Please make an appointment with your physician to discuss this.  You would need a physical examination to accurately diagnose this condition.
